My Story

As the oldest of 7 children, I've been taking care of people for as long as I can remember. Babysitting paid for me to go to college, where I was able to study early childhood education and learn more about how to not only entertain children, but how to support their growth as well. Shortly after, I became a step-mom to the most amazing little girl, and realized that no amount of college or babysitting could have prepared me for the emotions that come with actually parenting, but it truly is a labor of love. The love I got to share with my husband and my step-daughter was so intoxicating that we decided we needed more, and we became pregnant. I realized I was going to need a special kind of love during labor, and hired a Doula. She was and had everything that I could have possibly needed, and probably even beyond that. She made a defining moment of my life a positive one. We were also blessed with love and gifts of time and service from family, and the culmination of so many things coming together for me made me realize that being able to help other people find those moments of bliss and understanding could really make a positive, lasting impression on those around me. I earned a certification as a postpartum doula, and continue to look for additional ways that I can help families.
